SR71 Blackbird
The Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" is a retired long-range, altitude, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft developed and manufactured by the American aerospace company Lockheed Corporation. The SR-71 has several nicknames, including "Blackbird" and "Habu".
The SR-71 was designed to minimize its radar cross-section, an early attempt at stealth design.
Finished aircraft were painted in an almost black-like dark blue, to increase the emission of internal heat and to act as camouflage against the night sky.
The dark color led to the aircraft's nickname "Blackbird".
Fluorescence and phosphors create a glowing effect each time the UV-LED technology is activated.
Vaucanson timepieces have three distinctly different appearances; one in daylight, another under UV-LED illumination, and a third in the afterglow once the UV-LED deactivates.
The result of this collaboration is an innovative and patented illumination system which makes this timepiece a true fusion of technology and aesthetics. A perfect balance has been struck between advanced technologies and sophisticated, beautifully executed timepiece dials.
With the push of a button, it becomes clear that this is no ordinary timepiece, as the UV-LEDs activate, exciting the colorful fluorescents and phosphors that absorb the energy and release it as visible illumination, creating a truly soulful experience. With the touch of a button, you are not just lighting up your timepiece but your imagination and, quite possibly, inspiration.
Each timepiece comes with a 3D raised script and image of the SR-71 Blackbird with 3 red lines as vapor trails. The strap has quick-release pins and a beautiful silver tone tang buckle.
